What is Candida?

Candida albicans is a type of yeast that lives naturally in your gastrointestinal tract and other parts of your body. It's usually kept in check by the ‘friendly’ bacteria in your gut and elsewhere, so it doesn’t cause any problems.

But if the balance between your good and bad bacteria is disrupted, Candida can grow out of control. This can lead to all sorts of unpleasant health issues.
